한국만화영상진흥원이 일반인 1000명을 대상으로 한국 명작만화에 대한 선호도를 조사한 결과 이현세 작가의 '공포의 외인구단'이 1위에 선정됐다. 23일 진흥원에 따르면 2위는 허영만 작가의 '식객'이, 3위는 박소희 작가의 '궁'이 각각 뽑혔다. 웹툰인 강풀 작가의 '그대를 사랑합니다'와 조석 작가의 '마음의 소리'도 각각 4위, 8위를 차지했다. 한편 한국인이 가장 많이 읽은 만화는 김수정 작가의‘아기공룡 둘리’인 것으로 조사됐다. / 소년조선일보 2012년 4월 24일자 2면

Korea Manhwa Contents Agency (KOMACON) researches 1,000 people on their preferences for Korea's classic comic books. Cartoonist Lee Hyun-sae's 'The Terrifying Mercenary Baseball Team’ has won top honors. According to KOMACON, cartoonists Huh Young-man’s ‘Gourmet’ and Park Sohee's 'Palace’ have been selected as second and third place respectively. Webtoon artists Kang Pool’ s ‘I love you’ and Jo Seok's ‘The Sound of the Mind’ take fourth and eighth place respectively.

Meanwhile, Korea's most read cartoon is 'Baby Dinosaur Dooly' by Kim Soo-jung.
